Introduction to Scuba Diving or Resort Course:
This is for the non diver who would like to experience the joy of scuba diving, seeing what its like to breath underwater and relaxing with the tropical fish and coral.
One of our professional scuba instructors will guide you through the basics of scuba diving, showing you breathing techniques, how to equalize your ears, underwater mask and regulator clearing before taking you on a tour of one of our majestic reefs.
Cost $125
Duration 3hrs
Min age 10yrs
Min Number 2
*Certain Medical conditions may exempt one from participating in scuba diving, if in doubt please consult a diving physician in your area prior to booking a resort course to avoid disappointment.
Open Water Diver Course:
This is for the non diver, or may be some one who has been on resort courses and wants to go one step further – becoming a fully certified diver.
The course will take you through the various types of equipment used in scuba diving, how to assemble your gear, making sure it fits correctly and more importantly….how it is used underwater! During the course you will become proficient in obtaining buoyancy control allowing you to lye motionless in the water whilst enjoying the splendor of the tropical marine life found around our islands and how to become a safe diver underwater and on the surface.
In the class room you will learn the “rules” of scuba diving, how to plan dives, what to do in emergencies and how to keep your self and others safe both underwater, on the surface and on the boat.
The Course usually runs from three to five days depending on the number of students (private classes available upon request)and the student ability, it consists of a number of classroom sessions where the theory of scuba is learnt, a number of confined shallow water sessions where the skills required to dive are mastered, followed by four open water dives where all the knowledge that you have gained from the academic and confined sessions will come together.
The course is designed to make you into an open water diver, not with just the ability to dive but to make you in to a competent and safe diver, so putting a time limit on a course is not our motto, we encourage learning and believe practice makes perfect and thus if any one is having difficulties mastering a particular topic or underwater task we have the option and time so a student can keep on practicing until proficient. contact us
If time is restricted there are a number of other options:
Scuba Diver Course This course consists of the first three topics (out of five) of the open water course, taking you through the principles of scuba diving, most of the skills you need to become a diver and two dives in the ocean. This certification will allow you to dive up to 40ft under the guidance of a dive master, and usually takes two days (the remainder of the course can be completed at a later date) |
